PHNOM PENH: The Global Alliance of SMEs, a Chinese association, has expressed interest in investing in Cambodia’s tourism industry.
During a meeting with the Cambodian Minister of Tourism, H.E. Thong Khon, the Secretary General of the association, H.E. Cao Fang, revealed that the association has a broad international network and has established liaison offices in various countries, including Cambodia.
The purpose of this association is to strengthen Cambodia-China relations and promote investment cooperation.
The Minister of Tourism emphasized that Cambodia has a peaceful and welcoming environment for foreign investment, and the country is eager to attract international visitors, especially Chinese tourists.
In the first three months of 2023, Cambodia received around 1.2 million foreign tourists, with 120,000 of them coming from China.
This news highlights the potential for further investment in Cambodia’s tourism sector, which has been growing steadily over the past few years due to the country’s natural beauty, rich cultural history, and economic development.
As a result, Cambodia has been attracting a growing number of international visitors, making it an attractive destination for investors looking to invest in the tourism industry.
