THBONG KHMUM — A massive expansion strategy by KIMS Rubber (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. is officially underway following the inauguration of its brand-new, $30 million rubber processing factory in Thbong Khmum province.
The grand opening, presided over by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Chinese Ambassador H.E. Wang Wenbin, marks the first major milestone in the company’s aggressive multi-province growth plan.

Located across nearly 15 hectares in Choam Mlou village, the newly operational Thbong Khmum facility boasts an annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes. The project secures vital direct employment for 300 individuals and stabilizes livelihood opportunities for more than 50,000 local rubber tappers.
The Thbong Khmum launch is only the first phase of KIMS Rubber’s domestic expansion strategy. To capture a larger share of the Kingdom’s rising rubber yields, the company has announced plans to invest an additional $30 million to construct a second factory in Ratanakiri province.
This upcoming Ratanakiri facility will mirror the first, adding another 100,000 tonnes of annual processing capacity to the company’s footprint. Combined, KIMS Rubber’s $60 million total investment will inject 200,000 tonnes of processing power into Cambodia’s agro-industrial sector.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Hun Manet explicitly welcomed the company’s forward-looking expansion goals. He noted that scaling operations across multiple provinces heavily supports Cambodia’s broader economic objective: pivoting away from exporting raw materials and moving toward high-value domestic processing.
KIMS Rubber, a foreign-invested subsidiary of global agricultural trading giant Guanda Industrial Co., Ltd., entered the Cambodian market with legal registration in 2024. The company’s processing factories are strategically positioned to fuel both international and domestic supply chains:
- Global Export: The facilities process raw rubber into international-standard products designed to pass stringent European Union compliance metrics for Western export.
- Domestic Integration: KIMS Rubber serves as a primary raw-material supplier directly to Cambodia’s rapidly growing domestic tire manufacturing plants and rubber-based product factories.
The expansion of KIMS Rubber arrives at a critical juncture for the industry. Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries data confirms that Cambodia’s total rubber plantation area grew to 448,051 hectares, driving total domestic production up to 422,842 tonnes.
