DPM Champions Cambodia as a Prime Investment Destination at the Investment Seminar in Thailand

PHNOM PENH: H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), recently led a delegation to Bangkok, Thailand, to promote Cambodia as a top investment destination for Japanese businesses.

H.E. Sun Chanthol highlighted Cambodia’s attractive investment climate at the Cambodia Investment Seminar as Thailand +1, emphasizing the country’s political and macroeconomic stability, free and open market economy, skilled and dynamic workforce, and robust infrastructure.

The seminar, co-organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the AEM-METI Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee (AMEICC), aimed to attract Japanese investors by showcasing Cambodia’s investment policies and incentives, particularly in priority sectors.

The event, which drew over 200 participants from the Japanese business community, including members of the Japanese Business Association of Cambodia (JBAC) and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Bangkok, underscores the growing interest in Cambodia as a strategic location for global businesses.

Through his efforts, H.E. Sun Chanthol continues to position Cambodia as a key player in the global economy, attracting foreign direct investment and driving sustainable economic growth.
