PHNOM PENH: A mall construction project in Village 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province has been granted a green light by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).
According to the council’s press release issued on Thursday, invested by DRF-Mart Fa Dao Jia Trading Co., Ltd. with a capital of US$14 million, the project would create 227 job opportunities.
The newly-approved projects are expected to generate some 7,000 jobs for the locals. They cover the production of packaging materials, clothes and bags and luggage, and wood processing.
At the same time, CDC also approved five other investment projects worth in total of $31 million in Phnom Penh’s capital and the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kandal, Kampong Speu, and Takeo. Here are the details of each:
1. The “ZHAO CHUNXIANG PROCESSING FACTORY CO., LTD” plans to establish a wood processing plant in Ta Neang village, Ta Nei commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province. The project requires an investment of approximately $8.5 million and would create 83 jobs.
2. The “GREAT ZHENXIN GARMENT CO., LTD” will build a garment factory on Concrete Road, Prek Samrong 3 Village, Sangkat Takhmao, Takhmao City, Kandal Province. The project requires an investment of approximately $6.5 million and would create 1,537 jobs.
3. The “NIUENT (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD” plans to establish a bag and suitcase factory in Keo Udom village, Trapeang Kong commune, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province. The project requires an investment of approximately $5.7 million and would create 1,530 jobs.
4. The “LONG MARCH GARMENT CO., LTD” will establish a garment factory on National Road 2, Poun Phnom Village, Trapeang Sap Commune, Bati District, Takeo Province. The project requires an investment of approximately $5.2 million and would create 2,723 jobs.
5. The “TEAM INDUSTRIAL COMPANY LIMITED” plans to establish a factory to produce packaging materials (bags) and suitcases. The factory will be located at Building A, Concrete Road, Trapeang Chhouk Village, Sangkat Kantouk, Khan Kampol, Phnom Penh. The project requires an investment of approximately $5.1 million and would create 1,076 jobs.
