According to the Department of Public Works and Transport, this road is a city ring road from the southwest to the east of Phnom Penh, and it is 53 kilometers long and 22 meters wide from National Road 4 to National Road No. 1. It is also a 22 cm thick reinforced concrete road.
The Third Ring Road is a new road project with a budget of nearly $300 million, $273 million of which is financed by China and the rest by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
The project began construction in January 2019, with the third ring road stretching a total length of 52 km and the main road a total length of 47 km. paved road, concrete, cement, steel, width from 22 meters to 27 meters, thickness 22 cm. The side road has a total length of 5 km, is an AC concrete road, and there are 4 flyovers across national roads (crossing National Roads 4, 3, 2, and 21) with a length of about 1 km.
There are two bridges across the river in the Chinese canyon of the Bassac River, totaling 996 meters in length (630 meters east bridge and 366 meters west bridge), as well as six other medium and short bridges.
The third ring road project is being built in accordance with the master plan and vision of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, as directed by the Royal Government of Cambodia, in order to facilitate product transportation and contribute to the reduction of congestion caused by large vehicles transporting goods in and out.
Furthermore, the Third Ring Road, which includes the ASEAN Highway and the Greater Mekong Sub-region Economic Corridor, facilitates cross-border transport, promotes international trade, and facilitates regional logistics.
On the other hand, it has been observed that real estate prices along the Third Ring Road have begun to rise, and there is a high potential for housing development, boreys, factories, warehouses, logistics, and so on.
