PHNOM PENH: Cambodia has established 10 private business centers in China and plans to open 5 more as part of their cooperation.
This announcement was made by H.E. Chuon Dara, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, during the “Promoting Cambodia-China Trade and Investment” Forum held in Phnom Penh on April 22, 2023.
The forum was presided over by H.E. Chuon Dara and H.E. Lan Tianli, Governor of the Guangxi Autonomous Region in China.
During the forum, H.E. Chuon Dara encouraged Chinese enterprises from Guangxi Province to invest in Cambodia’s agricultural product production and processing sector, which has a significant export market to the European Union and other regions.
Meanwhile, H.E. Lan Tianli invited Cambodian leaders, particularly the Ministry of Commerce, to participate in the 20th China-ASEAN Expo and Trade and Investment Forum in Nanning, China, in September 2023.
Additionally, at the forum, 11 Cambodian-Chinese companies signed business projects promoting agricultural product cultivation and processing.
Cambodia incentivizes foreign businesses and investors by simplifying tariffs and facilitating trade. In fact, the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement entered into force for Cambodia for the first time.
